Born in San Francisco to immigrant parents, I grew up between California and the United Kingdom. I've lived and learned in different environments across the world, and I carry those experiences with me every day. For as long as I can remember, I've identified myself as a "reader" — whether that meant devouring chapter books or analyzing art. "Reading" as a theory of analysis shapes who I am as a person, thinker, and artist to this day.
I believe curiosity is what makes a student a real learner. Passion for exploring the world around us and its implications — and making the time and space to understand their weight — is a critical value to me. I love learning new things, and I love loving learning, and I aim to bring that spirit to my learning environments. That's why I'm drawn to teaching, which I get to practice weekly through peer tutoring for the Writing Center and in Russian at school.
Through the Youth Development Organization, I work with groups of middle-school students during the school year, tutoring Russian and Literature Through Theatre. I also work with the Cherry Orchard Nursery in London, where we help immerse kids of Russian-speaking immigrants in their native language and culture.
